Our guides are the friendliest and most enjoyable group to hang around with. We are a young, and vivacious group that bring fun to all of our exciting trips. Our guides are very friendly and have experience guiding trips for all ages of people. Let us show you a great trip on Florida's best waterways!
Jesse
Jesse is the founder of Blazing Paddles and has a true passion for nature and the outdoors. As a local born here in Brevard County and a graduate of Merritt Island High School, Jesse has lots of great local experience and knowledge to pass on during trips. As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Jesse has gotten worldly experiences in many different wonderful, yet sometimes hostile places. He also has plenty of stories to tell from surfing in Indonesia, Hawaii, or Japan, to Scuba diving the Andaman Sea in Thailand before the Tsunami, or even climbing the mountains and glaciers in Alaska. Living in Alaska for four years, both during and after the military, is where Jesse learned his love for the wild. So when he moved back home to Florida he just had to find his way back to nature and luckily for him the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is just a short drive away. Enjoy the paddle as he takes you to some of the best places in Florida that some locals don't even know.
Sarah
Sarah is our prettiest guide and comes to us from St. Augustine Florida. She is a graduate of Nease High School and was the color guard captain. She's spent quite some time with us on the water and has a keen eye for spotting dolphins, manatees, and other wildlife. Sarah is a graduate from UCF with a degree in Mathematics. Currently working towards her Master's Degree she is a full time engineer but still finds time to help us with tours when she isn't doing rocket science. She has competed (and finished) in the annual Disney Marathon with Team In Training which is an organization for helping people with Leukemia. Sarah is a great person to be around and always brightens our trip.
Bryan
Bryan is also a native Floridian born and raised right here in Brevard County. He is a graduate of Rockledge High school and the Fire Fighter Academy. Bryan is a true outdoorsman and can help you to identify nearly every fish and animal under the water, and tell you which fish taste best. Don't make the mistake of inviting him over to your house to eat your fish however, he has the largest appetite known to mankind. You'd do well to take him to an all-you-can-eat place instead. Bryan is a firefighter and works in Merritt Island with the Brevard County Fire Rescue Unit so if you're injured during a trip or the woods catch on fire while he's with you don't panic, you're in safe hands. Bryan is a very fun guide and will keep you entertained and informed from start to finish. He may even talk you into joining he, Jesse, and others on an upcoming 2-week trip through the Appalachian Trail. No matter what, you're going to have fun when Bryan is around.
